The Gardener
They were in love with each other. Their love was simple and pure. A glance or a conversation was enough to make them feel the happiest, forgetting everything else.
He was a gardener and often gifted her beautiful flowers. She was a girl of noble blood and enjoyed watching him work. She told herself, "This man will become my husband."
But as time passed, she noticed he gave her nothing but flowers, and she began to want more. Under pressure from her parents, she decided to marry a wealthy man. During their last meeting, the gardener asked for permission to kiss her one last time. She agreed.
Afterward, he threw himself off the city wall. On the day of her wedding, a beautiful flower bloomed where the gardener had fallen, lasting only a day before withering.
Happiness
He decided to fight against the Legion of Storms. As he left, she told him, "I will wait for you."
Initially, she received letters from him every week. They were filled with new information and love. But over time, the letters became less frequent, arriving only once a month, and spoke only of the hardships of fighting the Legion of Storms. "Does he no longer love me?" she wondered.
The letters became rare and vague. She noticed she missed him less, and when a young man who adored her appeared in her life, she decided to marry him. She wrote to her former lover about her decision, thinking she would give him one last chance if he returned.
His reply came immediately, with just one word: "Okay."
That day, at the Lionheart Knights' camp, the knights gathered at a grave. The commander removed his helmet, tears in his eyes.
"We did everything you asked," he said, "she no longer loves you, and now she is happy again. Today is her wedding day, you can rest easy now!"
The Promise
Ten years later, Buck returned to his homeland. He found a blacksmith who could make divine weapons. The burly man hadn't changed a bit in ten years.
"Give me the material, and I'll keep my promise!" the blacksmith laughed.
"A promise from ten years ago!" said the blacksmith. And so, ten years later, Buck gave the material to the blacksmith.
"Come back tomorrow, it will be ready," said the blacksmith, taking the material.
The next day, Buck went to the forge and found the doors closed.
"He couldn't have run off with my material, he's not that kind of person!" Buck reasoned.
"Who are you?" a passerby asked Buck.
"My name is Buck. Yesterday, I brought materials to the blacksmith, and he asked me to come today. But now the forge is closed!"
"Are you out of your mind?" the passerby was surprised, "Fankle died three years ago, I was at the funeral myself!"
Torn by doubt, Buck peeked through the forge window. Inside, everything was covered in a thick layer of dust. Buck climbed inside and saw a new, gleaming sword in the corner. Tears welled up in Buck's eyes.
Farewell
I am blind, but I am happy because there is someone who loves me. I have a simple dream. I want to see this girl and tell her of my love. One day, a wizard told me there was a volunteer willing to give up their eyes.
I joyfully told her about it, and we laughed like children. When the wizards appeared before me, I was not afraid, for I knew I would soon see my beloved. Soon, I opened my eyes and saw this colorful world for the first time. I went to her, but she was nowhere to be found.
Then I saw a note at the head of the bed: "Take my eyes and go find your love."
Since then, I could see everything except her.
Paper Warriors
"Can you really stop them?" I asked the funny man who called himself a wizard.
"Of course!" he said, "I need paper for that!"
When he got the paper, he immediately started cutting something out. He cut out figures of warriors, mages, and knights.
"What are all these figures for? Can they really stand against the Legion of Storms?"
"They can," he said.
But besides faith, I had nothing, so I had to start preparing for retreat. When the scout reported that the Legion of Storms' troops were closing in, the wizard took the paper figures and left the camp.
We saw him scatter the figures to the wind while chanting a strange spell. As they fell to the ground, the figures slowly rose, turning into real people. And before us stood a real fighting squad.
"Now we need to leave," he said, "They only look real, but they remain paper!"
That's how our squad escaped pursuit and survived.
Hide and Seek
Arti's mother fell seriously ill and was soon to pass away. She called Arti to her bedside.
"Arti," she said, "Mother wants to play with you."
"Of course, Arti loves to play! What game, mom?" Arti asked.
"In a few days, I will hide from you," she said, "and you try to find me!"
"Okay, mom!" Arti said joyfully.
A few days later, she passed away, and Arti began to search for her but couldn't find her.
Many years passed, Arti grew up, married, and had children of his own. Then he grew old, and his last day came.
"Dad wants to play with you," Arti told his children, "do you want to play?"
The children agreed.
"Now close your eyes, children," Arti said in his final hour, "I'm going to a place where I can hide well!" Tears filled the closed eyes of the children.
"I've found you, mom!" Arti said, and left our world.
The Rose
While wandering through the lifeless Sands of Oblivion, I came across a corpse. It wore leather armor, but the face was unrecognizable. Finding a dead person in the desert is a sign of fate, so they should be buried. But one thing struck me.
A beautiful rose was blooming beneath it.
For the desert, this is an incredible phenomenon. For whom does this flower bloom?
Strong Wine
Mr. Uttal was visited by his friend because Uttal had prepared the strongest wine. The first glass appeared on the table.
"Not bad!" said Mr. Uttal and laughed. Then his friend noticed that all his teeth were gone.
"Teeth? Last time I noticed that this wine shouldn't be held in the mouth too long, or it eats away at the teeth."
After that, they drank a second glass. Then the friend noticed that Uttal's eyes were clouded.
"Yes, last time after the second glass I noticed that the soul might go to another world and not return."
Then they drank a third glass. Uttal's entourage rushed in and carried him out, leaving his friend alone.
The next day, Uttal found his friend dead at the table.
"I forgot to warn you," Uttal laughed, "after this wine, the servants should carry you outside and rub your stomach, or the wine might kill you!"
The Great Mage
"I can become a bird and fly into the sky!" said the great mage.
"Of course!" said the girl.
"Once I saved an elven fairy!"
"Of course. Everyone knows," she comforted him, "that you never managed to be together. What a tragic story!"
"I've done so much," he lamented, "but why isn't my name in history books?"
"Really? Take this medicine," the girl said, handing him a blue pill, "and I'll write your name in history!"
The great mage grabbed the pill, watched as the girl wrote the word "drank" on paper, and with a joyful exclamation, swallowed the medicine.
Once
When they loved each other, they planted a sapling in the forest.
"This tree will grow big, like our love," he told her.
And every day they cared for this sapling, like their own love.
He joined the Lionheart Knights and went to war. She continued to water the little tree every day, but one day the Legion of Storms invaded the village. She died under that tree.
Years passed, and the tree got lost among the other trees in the forest.
