Overview
Professions are Forsaken World's crafting and gathering specializations. Players can level up to 5 professions per character (combining gatherer + crafter + secondary), unlocking recipes for consumables, gear, mounts, and special services. Professions are a major time-investment but provide self-sufficiency for endgame characters.
This article covers mechanics, progression paths, and tips for getting the most from this system.
Introduction
If you enjoy gathering resources to craft useful items, the game Dark Age will inspire you. In this world, you can explore 15 professions. Some are automatically acquired at certain levels, while others require points earned from main quests. At levels 10, 20, 30, 35, 40, and 45, new professions become available. There are three professions that don't require points: Diplomat, Hunter, and Trader. You can have a maximum of 6 points to learn others. If you want to try something new, you can "freeze" your current profession using the "Fruit of Wisdom," obtainable from chests, achievements, or the Eyrie's Gallery.
Professions can be divided into gathering and processing. Gathering professions allow you to obtain resources like plants, fish, or pets, often consuming patience (yellow bar). Processing professions use gathered resources to create items like potions or weapons, consuming energy (blue bar).
Quest-related professions are acquired automatically and developed through quests, affecting their efficiency and rewards.
