Overview

Equipment Appraisal is the process of evaluating the quality of dropped or crafted gear before committing to refine, embed, or fortify it. Forsaken World gear has hidden quality variations beyond visible stats — appraisal reveals the true potential of each piece.

This article covers how to appraise gear, what stats to look for, when to invest in a piece vs sell it, and the mechanics of "rerolling" appraisal results.

Why Appraisal Matters

Two pieces of identical-named gear can have dramatically different stat ranges. An unappraised "Rare Sword" might be worth 500 gold or 5000 gold depending on hidden roll quality. Appraisal reveals:

• Stat ranges for each affix (min / mid / max rolls)
• Special properties (set effects, procs, sockets)
• PvP / PvE designation (some gear is one or the other)
• Soulbond status (already character-bound or free to trade)

Equipment Appraisal

Equipment appraisal is the process of revealing additional attributes of gear. Starting at level 10, players will notice that equipment of green quality or higher has both primary and additional attributes. However, these additional attributes are initially hidden behind the label "Not Appraised." Until they are revealed, their nature and magnitude remain unknown and do not enhance the character's stats. Therefore, it is essential to appraise them.

Only the Sages of the world of Eyrda can decipher these hidden attributes. They have created Sage Scrolls for the residents, and for heroes who have acquired equipment above level 40, Prophet Scrolls are available.

To use the scrolls, you need to have both the scroll and the equipment you wish to appraise in your inventory. Right-click on the scroll, and your cursor will change to:

, then use the changed cursor to left-click on the equipment.

Note: If the scroll is bound, the appraised item will also become bound to you.

The additional attributes obtained after appraisal are random, but their number depends directly on the color of the item.

Thorough appraisal can help increase the number of attributes appraised.

Fashion clothing can also be appraised.

Fashion Clothing Appraisal

For fashion clothing appraisal, you will need "Archmage's Charms" (

) and any item of the fashion style you wish to appraise. Each fashion clothing item can reveal only two additional attributes, and they cannot undergo thorough appraisal.

Your playstyle might favor a particular attribute, such as accuracy. You can attempt to redefine the additional attributes of your equipment to achieve the most desirable ones. This process is called reappraisal.

Reappraisal

Reappraisal is the process of reassessing the additional attributes of green, blue, purple, and gold quality equipment.

To perform a reappraisal, you need:

    Green Scroll - for green quality equipment up to level 75.

    Blue Scroll - for blue quality equipment up to level 75.

  • 

    Amethyst Scroll - for purple quality equipment up to level 75.

  • 

    Green Power Scroll - for green quality equipment level 75 and above.

  • 

    Blue Power Scroll - for blue quality equipment level 75 and above.

  • 

    Purple Power Scroll - for purple quality equipment level 75 and above.

  • 

    Gold Scroll - for gold quality equipment level 75 and above.

  • 

    Mysterious Green Scroll - for green quality equipment level 85 and above.

  • 

    Mysterious Purple Scroll - for purple quality equipment level 85 and above.

  • 

    Mysterious Orange Scroll - for gold quality equipment level 85 and above.
  • The item to be reappraised.
  • Some unbound currency, depending on the item's quality.
• Visit Blacksmith Gabriel.
• Select "Reappraise Equipment" and drag the desired item into the item slot. The scroll will automatically be used if available in your inventory.

Note: If the scroll is bound and the equipment is not, the equipment will become bound during reappraisal.

Press "Start" and wait for Gabriel to complete the reappraisal.

Reappraisal can be performed as many times as you have scrolls available.

You can reappraise any part of the equipment: weapons, armor, jewelry, and fashion clothing. During reappraisal, only the additional attributes change, while the main properties and characteristics remain unchanged.

If you are not satisfied with the reappraisal result, you can always reset it and return the item to its previous appraisal by paying a few gold coins or using a Memory Scroll.

To reset the reappraisal using gold coins, simply press the "Cancel" button in the reset interface, which automatically appears after reappraisal completion.

  is an item that allows you to cancel the reappraisal result without spending gold coins.

If you have at least one Memory Scroll in your inventory, the Reappraisal Reset interface changes: a "Return" button appears.

Pressing this button resets the current reappraisal result, returning the item to its previous appraisal, and the Memory Scroll disappears from the inventory.

Q: How do I appraise gear? A: At any blacksmith — select the appraisal option, place the item, pay the gold cost. Some gear requires special appraisal materials (Identification Scrolls).

Q: Should I appraise everything I find? A: No — appraise high-tier gear only. Common drops aren't worth the appraisal cost. Save coins for purple-tier or endgame gear.

Q: Can appraisal results be re-rolled? A: With Blue Gear Revaluation Scrolls (event drop) — re-rolls the appraisal results. Saves a piece if the first roll was bad.

Q: When to sell vs invest? A: Sell if appraisal stats are below 70% of max possible roll. Invest in refining/embedding if the piece is 80%+ rolled.
