Overview
Talismans are Forsaken World's late-game enchantment system — equippable charms that occupy a unique slot and provide significant stat bonuses, procs, and special effects. Talismans are tied to the Faith and God systems, with high-tier talismans requiring deep investment in those mechanics.
This article catalogs talisman types, tiers, acquisition paths, and how to choose the right talisman for your build.
Talisman Slot Mechanics
Each character has dedicated talisman slots unlocked through quest progression. Talismans:
- Cannot be sold or destroyed (in most cases)
- Carry both passive and active effects — some have on-use abilities
- Tier with progress — higher faith levels and questline completion unlock advanced tiers
- Are race or class-flavored sometimes — pay attention to compatibility
General Information
Talismans are additional equipment worn in special slots in the character's attribute window (hotkey C). There are two types of talismans: Rage and Calm.
- Rage Talisman: Increases the chance of dealing additional damage when using skills of certain elements enhanced by the talisman. Attacks with specific elemental skills have a chance to deal 180% base damage.
- Calm Talisman: Reduces the chance of receiving additional damage from hostile characters. However, if it is enhanced for water aura defense, it won't protect against light aura.
Obtaining Talismans
Ghost Ernie The Rage Talisman can be obtained from the NPC Ghost Ernie on the airship in Hossinger in exchange for the item "Heart of the Soul," which is acquired by completing the fifth room in the solo dungeon "Road to Hell."
The Calm Talisman is awarded for completing a level 60 storyline quest from NPC Obbi in the Temple of Solarin located in Eldaram. Completing the entire previous quest line of the Main Line: Eldaram is required.
Rage Talisman exchange for bard in Wind branch The Rage Talisman offers several elemental options, each tailored to the character's class. For example, a bard can choose from light, water, and air; a mage from fire, water, and air.
Upon obtaining the Calm Talisman, one random element is unlocked without choice.
Both types of talismans can only be obtained once in the game, making them bound items that cannot be sold, exchanged, or destroyed.
Talisman Parameters
Rage Talisman Rank 6 Both talismans have similar parameters and leveling strategies. Current parameters can be viewed in the Talisman interface (arrow next to the slot in the character's attribute window).
Talisman Level
The current level is shown in the "Current Lvl" window. The level affects the aura strength limits of all elements. Leveling up requires filling the "Experience" bar, which is done by merging with blue equipment or Calm and Rage Marks.
Merging is done directly in the Talisman interface. Place blue quality equipment or a Calm or Rage Mark in the "Talisman Upgrade" slot.
-
Calm and Rage Marks can be randomly obtained from the Ancestor's Blessing box, purchased for 105 War God points from NPCs Klaas Gornilo and Sariel Gornilo in Hossinger, or from Agron Landi in the Dream Grove. Agron offers a weekly exchange of Ancestor's Blessing for 3 Ancient War Testimonies (Quest: Weekly Blessing).
-
Alternatively, Marks can be bought from the NPC Benefactor of the Era (requires at least 100 gold coins in the backpack).
-
Completing the daily Heroic Challenge of Fate quest randomly awards 15 Calm or Rage Marks.
For Rage Talismans, equipment with "white stat" attack (weapons, bracers, shoulders, helmets) or Rage Marks are suitable.
For Calm Talismans, equipment with "white stat" defense (shirts, belts, pants, boots) or Calm Marks are suitable.
Each item adds a specific number of points during merging, depending on the equipment type, while Marks add a fixed 20 points.
A maximum of 250 merges can be done per day for both talismans combined. For example, if 200 Rage Talisman upgrades are done, only 50 Calm Talisman upgrades can be done that day.
The experience required to level up increases with each level.
Talisman Rank
The rank determines how many elements are unlocked. Rank increases at certain levels. For example, the first rank is at level 10.
Once a threshold level is reached, merging becomes unavailable until the rank is increased.
Different items are needed for each rank upgrade. Items for the Rage Talisman can be exchanged with Ernie on the airship in Hossinger for items obtained from each room of the Road to Hell.
Items for the Calm Talisman are available from Agron Landi in the Dream Grove, Klaas Gornilo and Sariel Gornilo in Hossinger for medals or War God points.
Medals can be exchanged for Ancient War Testimonies with Agron Landi. The exchange quest appears after successfully completing 10, 15, 20, and 25 waves in the Ancestor's War.
Note that each medal can only be obtained once per game, so if used or additional items are needed, War God points must be spent.
| Rank after Upgrade | Upgrade Item | Medal Exchange | Purchase with WGP (Alternative) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rank 1 | Wonderful Calm Dust | Ancestor's War: Warrior Medal | |
| Rank 2 | Wonderful Calm Edge | Ancestor's War: Brave Medal | |
| Rank 3 | Wonderful Calm Crystal | Ancestor's War: General Medal | |
| Rank 4 | Wonderful Calm Stone | Ancestor's War: Hero Medal | |
| Rank 5 | Wonderful Calm Essence | Ancestor's War: God Medal | |
| Rank 6 | Wonderful Calm Blade | Ancestor's War: Legend Medal | |
| Rank 7 | Wonderful Calm Blade x2 | ||
| Rank 8 | Wonderful Calm Blade x3 |
Upon rank increase, a random elemental aura is unlocked. The character class does not affect the aura type, and even a Rage Talisman can unlock an aura the character cannot use. However, a level 2 noble can pay coins to choose an aura from a list of unopened ones.
To choose an aura upon rank increase, 20 must be in the character's backpack.
Note that starting from rank three, the Talisman loses a level upon rank increase, reducing the experience needed for leveling.
There are 8 Talisman ranks. The required Talisman level for each rank and the level reset upon rank increase can be found in the in-game guide by clicking the question mark next to the "Rank" window.
Aura Strengths
There are 7 aura strengths, one for each element, but the number of active ones depends on the Talisman rank. Every 100 aura strength points give a 1% chance of triggering an aura strength hit when attacking with the corresponding element. The hit deals 180% damage, as shown in the combat log. For example, the Talisman owner in the screenshot above has a 34% chance to deal 1.8x damage with water skills and a 16.1% chance for all other attacks.
The maximum aura strength cap is equal across all elements and depends on the Talisman level, but they are initially unenhanced. Aura strength can be enhanced by the Great Talisman Master in Hossinger.
Additional Properties
Bonus effects unlock as the total aura strength increases. If aura strength decreases during enhancement, bonuses disappear and return once the total aura strength reaches the corresponding bonus value.
All Rage Talismans share the same bonuses, viewable in the "Additional Properties" section.
For Calm Talismans, all points except "Spirit Power Transformation" are common.
Reaching this threshold unlocks an active skill. Upon unlocking, this line is replaced with the specific skill name.
The first skill (for 1000 points) can be one of the following:
| Skill | Skill Action |
|---|---|
| **Shield of Glory | |
| 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 lvl.** | Absorbs 500 / 1000 / 1500 / 2000 damage for 8 / 12 / 16 / 20 seconds. The shield disappears if the character is attacked 5 or more times. No mana cost, instant cast, 5-minute cooldown. |
| **Shield of Lightning | |
| 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 lvl.** |
The second skill (for 4500 points) can be one of the following:
| Skill | Skill Action |
|---|---|
| **Miraculous Acceleration | |
| 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 lvl.** | Increases movement speed by 20 / 30 / 40 / 50% for 8 / 12 / 16 / 20 seconds. No mana cost, instant cast, 5-minute cooldown. |
| Shield of Resurrection ** | |
| 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 lvl.** | |
- The name varies depending on the character's race. Skills can also be changed with the Talisman Master.
Powerful Racial Blessing
Equipping a talisman with a Powerful Racial Blessing (PRB) grants a permanent PRB effect. This also changes the description of the racial skill (which lasts 30 minutes), but only while the PRB buff is active.
What PRB improves:
| Elves | Increases all resistances by 25 -> 35 points |
|---|---|
| Humans | Increases base health by 3% -> 5% |
| Lycans | Increases crit chance by 1% -> 2% |
| Vesperians | Increases base health by 8% -> 10% |
| Dwarves | Increases dodge chance against crits by 1% -> 2% |
| Frangors | Reduces incoming damage by 1% -> 2% |
| Demons | Does not work |
| PRB is only available at the bottom of the talisman, i.e., for 4500 improvement. |
Enhancing Aura Strength
Talisman Master Elemental enhancement of Talismans is handled by the NPC Great Talisman Master in the Hossinger trading hall.
To enhance aura strength, select "Talisman Enhancement" in the interaction menu and place the Talisman in the slot after removing it from the character.
There are three types of aura strength enhancement: for numies, for coins, and "special enhancement."
Enhancement for Numies
Unlimited attempts are available per day for each Talisman, with the first 10 being free and subsequent attempts costing 5 gold numies each. Clicking adds or subtracts a random number of units to each open element. You can accept or decline the enhancement, but numies are not refunded upon refusal.
This method can enhance each individual characteristic to a maximum of 1500. Enhancing aura strength beyond this with numies is not possible, but reducing it is.
Enhancement for Coins
Available only to level 4 nobles. Each attempt costs 1.8 gold coins and can be done infinitely. The principle is the same as for numies; bonuses are distributed randomly, and you can accept or decline, but money is not refunded upon refusal.
Unlike numies, the 1500-point limit does not apply here, allowing aura strength to exceed this value.
Special Enhancement
The final enhancement method is guaranteed, available to level 5+ nobles.
By placing pluses in this mode, you can guarantee an increase of one unit in a specific aura strength.
If special items are in the backpack, they are used first:
- Knowledge Talisman: Rage - for Rage Talismans
- Knowledge Talisman: Calm - for Calm Talismans. Each "click" of special enhancement consumes:
- Rank 1-6: 1 talisman or 15 gold coins for Rage Talisman; 1 talisman or 7.5 gold coins for Calm Talisman;
- Rank 7: 2 talismans or 30 gold coins for Rage Talisman; 2 talismans or 15 gold coins for Calm Talisman;
- Rank 8: 3 talismans or 45 gold coins for Rage Talisman; 3 talismans or 22.5 gold coins for Calm Talisman. For example, one special enhancement click for a rank 7 Calm Talisman will consume 2 Knowledge Talismans: Calm, or if unavailable, 15 gold coins.
Talismans can be obtained from the Knowledge Talisman and other methods detailed below.
Talisman Skill Change
The Talisman Master also offers skill change services for Calm Talismans. Use the "Aura Change" option in the interaction menu.
Place the Calm Talisman in the window. Skills unlocked on it will appear on the left (or one skill if only one is unlocked), and the result of the change on the right. Each attempt requires:
Elusive Soul Stone
The change is random, with both skills chosen independently from available lists: the first skill from the first skills list, the second from the second list, and the level is also random. You can accept or decline the change, but the Elusive Soul Stone is not refunded upon refusal.
Knowledge Exchange
If you have accumulated many Ancient War Testimonies or Knowledge Talismans: Rage and your friend has none, the Great Talisman Master offers "Knowledge Exchange" to sell or gift unwanted items. However, the gift, while useful, will be undeniably expensive.
How it Works
It's simple: you "pack" bound items, exchanging them for an unbound box from the list below. Of course, this is not free, costing courage points and gold coins.
The acquired box can be transferred to another character or sold. Upon activation, you receive the same items needed for its acquisition, now bound, except for courage points and gold coins.
| Item (Unbound) | Cost | Obtainable (Bound) |
|---|---|---|
| Spirit Symbol: Rage | Knowledge Talisman: Rage | |
| Spirit Symbol: Calm | Knowledge Talisman: Calm | |
| Rage Extract | Rough Essence of Rage, 5 pcs | |
| Testimony of Honor |
FAQ
Q: When do I unlock my first talisman slot? A: Mid-level (around 40-50) through the main questline. Subsequent slots unlock at faith milestones and major questline endings.
Q: How do I upgrade a talisman? A: Through the Faith System — gathering Shards of Faith, completing prayer quests, and dedicating to your chosen god. Higher faith = higher talisman tier.
Q: Can I swap talismans freely? A: Yes between equipped talismans, but the upgrade process is one-way — committed materials don't refund.
Q: Best talisman for new players? A: The starter talisman from your race's main questline. Don't worry about optimization until you've completed a few major questlines and built up faith.
