Overview

The Wings System in Forsaken World is the deep progression mechanic behind flight — covering wing tiers, faith-based upgrades, color rating contributions, and the racial wing variants. While the basic Wings article covers introductory flight, this guide goes deeper into endgame wings progression.

Wings Progression Pillars

Wings grow through three intertwined systems:

  1. Tier upgrades — moving from introductory to advanced wings via quests
  2. Faith levels — the Faith system buffs wing stats at progressive tiers
  3. Wing fusion / refinement — combining lower-tier wings into higher tiers

Button to open the wings interface
The Homecoming update introduced an enhanced Wings system in the world of Eyrda, allowing players to fly! To access the Wings interface, open your character's attributes (hotkey C) and click the wings button located above the equipped gear slot. This opens a large window where you can manage the attributes provided by your wings. However, you must unlock these attributes before using them.

Enhancing Wings

Wings enhancement window
The only way to unlock these attributes and enhance your wings is by using gems. As the wings' level increases, the chance of enhancing them with low-level gems decreases, making the process more demanding, but the attributes gained also improve. To see the attributes of a new level, hover over the desired sphere.

There are 50 enhancement levels. To use a gem, insert it into the center slot and click the Enhance button below it. The system chat and slot glow will notify you of the enhancement's success or failure. Each level-up is accompanied by a progress bar at the bottom of the enhancement window. As the wings level up, their flight speed increases.

The success of enhancement depends on the gem's level and type, with level 5 crystallite providing the highest chance and experience. Note that enhancing wings beyond level 40 becomes very challenging and time-consuming.

Gem Experience Provided
Solarite 1
Eagle Eye 1
Bloodstone 2
Yarrow 2
Goldite 5
Dawnstone 5
Shatterstone 5
Crystallite 10
Lapis Lazuli ~0.2
Miststone ~0.2

Wings Attributes Functionality

To change an active attribute sphere, activate the desired one and reopen the character attributes window (hotkey C) twice. The sphere must meet two conditions:

  1. The wings' level must match the chain containing the sphere.
  2. The sphere must be unlocked (enhanced).

Chains are color-coded: blue (first), purple (second), orange (third), green (fourth), each corresponding to a wings level. For example, with 280 glow and level 35 wings, you can choose any sphere from levels 1 to 32, and the first sphere in the green chain will be active. To change spheres in the green chain, increase the glow to 420. Only one sphere can be selected per color chain.

Higher wings levels create a brighter glow around the character:

  • Levels 1-7: no glow
  • Levels 8-17: faint light-blue glow
  • Levels 18-47: stronger orange glow
  • Levels 48-50: even stronger orange glow

Flight

Now, the most exciting part: flying with your own wings!

To fly, you need level 33 wings and 420 glow. Once your wings reach level 33, the flight skill becomes available and can be added to the quick access bar. It can be found in the skills window (hotkey K), under the General tab, usually on the second page. Even without 420 glow, the skill may appear, but you cannot fly until reaching 420 glow.

Wings are useless in combat. You cannot fly in arenas or LD, as the same rules apply as with flying mounts. You cannot fight while flying. Support classes like priests can self-heal but cannot heal allies while flying. Overall, flight is mostly decorative, with flying mounts being superior in aerial combat.

FAQ

Q: If I choose similar attribute spheres in different chains, do they stack?
A: Yes, they stack.

Q: How does the movement speed increase work in wings?
A: It acts as a permanent buff, permanently increasing movement speed, and spheres stack.

Q: How many gems are needed for enhancement?
A: A lot. Approximately 3,000 level 5 crystallites were used in testing.

FAQ

Q: Best path to endgame wings? A: Focus on Faith progression first — a high faith level dramatically boosts wing stats regardless of which wing tier you wear. Then upgrade to the highest racial wing tier available.

Q: Are wings tradeable? A: Generally no — wings bind to the character. This makes wings choice carefully — ask before committing rare materials.

Q: How do wings interact with Color Rating? A: Wings contribute to your character's Color Rating display, which combined with embedded gems determines milestone wing-cosmetic unlocks at 100/200/280 rating.

Q: Can two characters share wings? A: No. Each character must progress their own wings. Account-wide unlocks are limited to specific event-only cosmetics.
