Overview

The Demons are one of Forsaken World's most distinctive races — outsiders by choice, exiles by history, and now uneasy allies of the surface races against the Storm Legion. Released with the Freedom Falls expansion in 2015, Demons brought a new visual identity (horns, hooves, tails, fire-burning eyes) and two playable classes (Soul Reaper and Ranger) to Forsaken World.

This article covers the Demon race's history, racial abilities, available classes, and the political position they hold in current Eyrda. For a quick race-pick reference focused on character creation, see also Demon (race overview).

Lore — Why Demons Exist

Demons are rebels. Refusing to worship Dyos and Nios, they hid beneath the earth's surface, deep in the depths of hell, to avoid the conflict between the gods.

When the gods of Eyrda fragmented into two warring factions — those who followed Dyos and those who followed Nios — Demons refused both. Rather than choose a side they didn't believe in, they retreated beneath the earth, into territories so deep that even the gods eventually forgot they existed.

For centuries, the Demons were an absent footnote in Eyrda's history. They built their own society in the underworld, ruled by their queen Rose, and developed their distinct culture without surface interference.

The Storm Legion Crisis

When the Storm Legion struck Freeport, every surface race was caught off-guard. The attack revealed an ancient divine force that had quietly sided with the Storm Legion — turning what should have been a winnable defense into a catastrophic loss.

In the chaos, Queen Rose led the Demons to the surface and declared an alliance with the surface races. The battle for Freeport was lost despite their help, and the city was destroyed. But the alliance held. Now, the surface races and the Demons stand together, building strength for the counterattack against the Storm Legion's occupied territories.

Demon Appearance

Demons are unmistakable in any crowd:

  • Elegant horns curving from the temples
  • Hooves instead of feet on most variants
  • Long sharp tails for balance and combat
  • Eyes burning with the fire of the underworld — a glow that never dims

This appearance fuels the cultural distrust they face from surface NPCs. Even the most heroic Demon-played character occasionally encounters merchant lines like "... my prices stay the same regardless of who's buying."

Cultural Position

Demons are stubborn, bloodthirsty, but absolutely reliable when they give their word. Once a Demon agrees to a task, they see it through to the end — or die in the attempt.

Because surface races still don't fully trust them, Demons gravitate toward the Vesperians (the Vampire race), who themselves are exile-coded and accepted Demons into the Blood Brotherhood without hesitation. In modern Eyrda politics:

  • Demons + Vesperians = the "darkside alliance" — both races outsiders, both fearsome warriors
  • Demons + Stonemen = surprisingly stable working relationship, mutual respect
  • Demons + Elves = tense (Elves dislike anything that "doesn't honor nature")
  • Demons + Humans = formal alliance, occasional cultural friction

Racial Skills

Skill Effect
Благословение_демона
Demon Blessing
Increases own base attack power by 3% for 30 minutes. Available at level 10.
Шепот_демонов
Demon Whisper
Sleeps the target for 6 seconds. Reduces Fire and Earth resistance by 150. The target awakens if attacked, but damage-over-time effects do NOT wake them. Available at level 15.
Дар_демонов
Demon Gift
A 10-second self-sacrifice buff: increases the target's attack power by 50% of the demon's attack power, while the demon's own attack drops by 50%. After the effect ends, the demon's attack doubles for 15 seconds while the target's attack drops. Available at level 20.

Demon Whisper is one of the longest hard-CC tools in the game (6-second sleep), and the resistance debuff makes it brutal in PvP against Fire-element classes (Mage Fire branch, Vampire Abyss).

Demon Gift is the most unique racial skill — a sacrifice/rebound that's powerful in coordinated PvP scenarios where you can buff a high-DPS ally during a burst window, then capitalize on your own +100% attack rebound.

Available Classes

Class Variants Role
Soul Reaper / Tormentor Male, Female Melee DPS — see Reaper
Ranger Male, Female Ranged DPS — see Ranger

The dual-gender option for both classes is a perk Demons share with Humans.
