Main Questline: Dwarves
The Dwarves' racial origin story — from your coming-of-age rite in Hearth Village and forging your first firearm in Tytan's name, to earning a place among the Lionheart Champions. The newbie path that sets every Dwarf on the road to the Marksman class.
Overview
The Dwarves main questline is the racial origin story you follow when you roll a Dwarf. It carries you from your coming-of-age ceremony in Hearth Village out into the wider world, and into the ranks of the Lionheart Champions — the great order that Dwarves and Humans build together. Along the way you forge your first firearm, the weapon that defines the Dwarven path toward the Marksman class.
It is a newbie-friendly arc: you begin it the moment your Dwarf steps into the world, and it doubles as a guided tour of your starting region while you level.
Why play a Dwarf
Dwarves were shaped to serve Tytan, the forge-god — created to dig the ore and work the metal that fuels his craft. That heritage runs through everything: a love of ingenuity, fine minerals, strong ale, and gunpowder. Where other races draw on magic or steel, Dwarves answer with engineering and firepower, which is exactly what makes them the people of the Marksman.
The journey, chapter by chapter
Coming of age in Hearth Village
Your story opens in Hearth Village, a cozy mountain town of mines, workshops and proud beards. Today is the day young Dwarves come of age — and that ceremony is your first quest line. A village craftsman named Henrik walks you through the rite, which unfolds in three parts: forge a weapon, prove your strength, and complete the ceremony.
Forging your first firearm
The heart of the rite is crafting your own gun. You gather the raw materials a Dwarf smith needs — ore and good timber — and bring them back to Henrik, who helps you assemble the weapon that will carry you out of the village. This is the moment the Dwarven gunpowder tradition becomes yours.
Proving your mettle
With a weapon in hand, you set out to show you can use it, clearing the threats that prowl the land around the village. Passing this trial earns you the standing of an Adult Dwarf — a coming-of-age title — and the right to leave home and travel.
The rite and Tytan's blessing
The ceremony closes at the altar, where the rite grants you a lasting gift: Tytan's Blessing, the racial main-line reward that marks you as one of the forge-god's own. From here, a newly-grown Dwarf is free to walk the wider world.
Joining the Lionheart Champions
The road leads you to the Lionheart Champions, the order that unites Dwarves and Humans against the threats rising across the land. You earn your place among them through service, building the reputation that opens the order's rewards to your race.
The centaur campaign
Your first real assignment with the order is a campaign against the Vile Centaurs menacing the frontier. Under Colonel Feldpsan you scout their warband, weaken them, and break their assault — a hands-on introduction to how the Lionheart Champions fight. It's a shared chapter of the order's story, and clearing it proves you belong in their ranks.
Onward to Freedom Harbor
With the campaign won, the order sends you on to Freedom Harbor, the bustling hub where the next stage of your adventuring life begins. The racial questline has done its job: you've graduated from Hearth Village, found your calling as a gunner, and earned a banner to fight under.
Lore note
Dwarven history isn't all forges and festivals. The old Dwarf King Kerron is remembered for entering the Tomb of Glory and vanishing into the Fissure Space — a piece of racial legend that colors the world your Dwarf grows up in.
Tips
- Use autopilot. The early ceremony quests point you between Henrik and the ceremony sites — let auto-pathing carry you so you can focus on the story.
- Lean into the gun. Your first firearm sets the tone; the Dwarven main line is the natural on-ramp to the Marksman class.
- Bank your Lionheart reputation. The order's favor unlocks race-shared rewards later, so the centaur campaign is worth finishing rather than skipping.
FAQ
Q: Which god do Dwarves follow? A: Tytan, the forge-god. Dwarves were created to help him dig ore and work metal, and the racial questline ends with Tytan's Blessing.
Q: How does this connect to the Marksman class? A: The Dwarven gunpowder tradition is the lore foundation of the Marksman. Forging and firing your first gun in the starting arc is the story side of that class identity.
Q: Do Dwarves work with Humans? A: Yes — both races stand together in the Lionheart Champions, so much of the order's content is shared between them.
Q: When can I start the questline? A: Right away. It begins in Hearth Village as soon as your Dwarf enters the world and runs alongside your early leveling.
